05/10-12 – Sri Venkateswara Brahmotsavam – HTCC of KC

The Sri Venkateswara Brahmotsavam is today through the 12th.

The Sri Venkateswara Brahmotsavam is an annual event organized by the HTCC to honor Lord Venkateswara and this year it will be celebrated on May 10th, 11th and 12th.

The term “Brahmotsavam” combines two Sanskrit words – “Brahma” (representing grandeur) and “utsavam” (meaning festival), with Brahma believed to have initiated the first celebration. During this event, Lord Venkateswara is ceremoniously paraded on various vahanas (vehicles) each day, Including the Gaja (Elephant), Garuda (Eagle), Sesha (Snake), SuryaPrabha (Sun), and ChandraPrabha (Moon). Additionally, there will be a Rathotsavam (chariot procession), a rare occurrence in the USA. Devotees are warmly invited to join the Sri Venkateswara Brahmotsavam to partake in the festivities and relish the delectable food offerings.
