Celebrate Diwali Mela at the Hindu Temple & Cultural Center of Kansas City!

Join us for the biggest celebration of the year! The Hindu Temple & Cultural Center of Kansas City invites you to Diwali Mela on Saturday, November 9th, 2024, starting at 4:00 PM. This festive event promises a delightful evening for the whole family.

Experience the vibrant atmosphere with food stalls offering a variety of dishes set up by multiple cultural organizations at discounted rates. The evening will be filled with cultural programs performed by talented artists, showcasing the rich heritage and traditions of the community.

The highlight of the night will be a fireworks display organized by the temple at 7:45 PM. It’s the perfect way to end a joyful evening filled with delicious food, mesmerizing performances, and the spirit of Diwali.

SEP 07-17 – HTCC – Ganesh Chaturthi Celebrations

The Hindu Temple & Cultural Center of Kansas City warmly invites you to join the grand Ganapathi Navaratri Celebrations, a spiritual and cultural festivity that will take place from September 7th to September 17th, 2024. This sacred event will commence on September 7th at 10:30 AM with the auspicious Ganapathi Sthapana, Asthana Puja, and Maha Mangala Aarthi, setting the tone for nine days of devotion and celebration. From September 8th to September 16th, the temple will host daily Laksha Pushpa Archana and special Aarthi sessions at 11:30 AM and 7:30 PM, creating an atmosphere of devotion and community spirit. On September 8th, at 8:00 AM, devotees can partake in the powerful Ganapathi Atharva Sirsha chanting, along with Bajan, Homam, and a special Aarthi. The festivities will culminate on September 17th at 6:00 PM with the Anantha Chaturdasi, featuring the immersion of Lord Ganesh idols in a ritual that symbolizes the conclusion of the celebrations.

There is no greater joy than making a Ganapati idol with your own hands and imagination. It is said that Ganapati idol made from natural clay attracts more pure spiritual particles.
Please join us in deep cultural, spiritual and ancient traditional practice of making your own Ganesha on

This Family Friendly hands-on workshop is FREE and open for all age groups.
All that you need is:
1) Natural clay (non-toxic, water-soluble) (possible Brands- Craft Smart, Air Dry, DAS) (Color-Any-Terracota/White/Grey) (Available on Amazon, Michaels, JoAnn, Hobby Lobby). (Suggestion: You can make one medium sized idol with 2lbs of clay)
2) A Base/Box/hard plate to carry the Ganesha idol.
3) A waterproof/plastic sheet/tarp and a trash bag for messy workspace.
4) Platic knife/fork/toothpick/skewer (or Pumpkin carving kit)
5) Water bottle, cup, paper towels, etc.

08/18 – Join Us for the Joyous Hindola Utsav at the Hindu Temple & Cultural Center of Kansas City

The Hindu Temple & Cultural Center of Kansas City, in collaboration with the Vaishnav Satsang Samaj of Kansas City, invites you to join the joyous celebration of Hindola on Sunday, August 18th, 2024, from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM. Hindola Utsav, or the Hindola Festival, is a cherished Hindu tradition that occurs during the monsoon season, typically between July and August. This festival celebrates the deep love and devotion for Lord Krishna, symbolized by the ritual of gently swinging the Lord on a beautifully decorated swing. Originating in Vrindavan 5,000 years ago, the tradition was born from the Gopis’ devotion, as they would lovingly swing Lord Krishna to express their adoration.

The event will begin with Darshan at 4:30 PM, followed by the Mangala Aarthi at 6:30 PM. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in the Puja and experience the divine joy of this ancient tradition. Prasad will be served from 7:00 PM onwards.
